We are pleased to inform you that TOAB (Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh) being the main stakeholder of tourism sector in Bangladesh is going to organise their annual event the country’s largest travel and tourism event – EBL BTTF-2010 from 30th September to 2nd October 2010 in Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), Sher e Bangla Nagar,Dhaka.
This year, we are arranging around 170 stalls. Delegates from at least 12 neighbouring and South Asian countries (India,Nepal,Bhutan,China,Malaysia,Thailand,Singapore,Vietnam,SriLana,Indonesia) are expected to participate in the Fair. Participants also include more real players and stakeholders of travel and tourism industries of different countries. Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is expected to inaugurate the Fair on 30th September 2010 in the morning.
BTTF-2010 will be relatively more colourful than BTTF-2009 with the participation of cultural troupes, tour operators, journalists, NTOs,Secretaries, association heads, tourism related service providers and buyers from different countries.Tourism Ministers from at least 3 participating countries will lead the delegates of their respective countries and will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Fair. SATTE and PATA will sponsor two International seminars in our Event. Live cultural shows will be arranged during fair. Awards will be be given to individuals / organisations for their contribution in tourism sector.
Last year we had about 30,000 visitors in the fair including participation of Bhutanese Minister for Economic Affairs & Tourism.Cultural team from Thailand,Bhutan and Assam performed their shows. This time we are expecting around 50,000 visitors including approximately 200 foreign delegates. We will arrange B 2 B session on first day up to 4-30 pm after that Fair will be opened for visitors. We are expecting buyers from Japan,Germany,India,China,Italy,Vietnam etc.
In 2006 Malaysia received only 27000 tourists from Bangladesh but after their participation in BTTF 09, they received 87000 tourists which is the highest ( 77% ) growth in the whole world. Thailand received around 66000 tourists last year. Minimum 2000 Bangladeshi tourists enter India every day. Bhutan has doubled their inbound tourists after their participation in BTTF 09. We would like to open up doors and establish business contact among countries around us.
