Hi Asif
So nice to hear from you and thanks for the nice words on my Views On Tourism Project. I believe all people have resources that can make a positive impact in the local community and the entire world.
While living in Bangladesh from 2007-2010 the Views On Tourism project came to life through the support and input of so many wonderful people from the Bangladeshi tourism industry. The blog just started as my online knowledge bank on Bangladeshi tourism and best practice examples on sustainable tourism development. Through interaction with the Bangladeshi tourism stakeholders new questions to investigate kept turning up which made the numbers of blog articles boom. Later the idea of the Views On Tourism Network Group came up also inspired by the input from local stakeholders.
With more than 250.000 international blog visitors and 650 group members the Views On Tourism Project is now far more than a Bangladesh project. My point: the sky is the limit when people unite! I am so convinced that sharing knowledge and network can encourage a sustainable tourism movement in Bangladesh, South Asia and worldwide.
Asif, as a BBA teacher you also have an important role to play in this regard. Great idea writing an article on medical tourism in Bangladesh, but I am not the best person to ask for input. I did a few blog articles on medical tourism in general (search ‘medical’), but I do not know enough of the Bangladeshi angle of this topic. I can see you have already joined the Views On Tourism network group, please start a group discussion or contact the group member I have mentioned in my direct mail to you.
Best of luck and please keep me (and the group members) in the know on your article.

Hello Majbritt,
I wish I could "thank" you enough for your efforts! Being a foreigner, the way you are trying to market Bangladeshi tourism is really commendable.
However, I am Asif, trying to teach Marketing to BBA students at United Int'l University, Dhaka. Some days ego I was thinking of writing an paper on Medical Tourism prospects and obstacles in BD. Could we share views and stats on that? my email id is {.....}
Regards! ~ Asif.

Dear Hugo.

That is a good question, which I cannot answer but I expect there is.

If you find the answer please share it. You might want to ask the question in the Views On Tourism network group (read the page 'be a member'). There is more than 500 members including people from the government.

Hi Samad.

Thanks for the specific question on Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh.
I am not sure if the exact question have been in focus in research, but two of the reports which mention Cox's Bazar and the target market are:

Teknaf peninsula Community-Based Ecotourism Strategy (2009) IPAC
and
Introduction to the tourism industry in Bangladesh (2008) Majbritt Thomsen for DANIDA B2B programme at the Royal Danish Embassy

Hopefully you can put some focus on this question and share the information here later.
Good luck,
